What does the Cleveland Cavaliers have on the NBA

In 2002-2003, the Cavaliers were the worst team in the NBA and coincidentally with Ohio native LeBron James in the draft the Cavaliers get the number one selection. Fast forward to 2010-2011, the Cavs were again one of the worst teams in the league. During that summer star player Lebron James make the "Decision" and decides to take his talent to South Beach"Miami". So, after losing James the Cavaliers again find a way to secure the number one selection in the NBA draft.

How does the Cavaliers continue to find ways to get the number one pick after disaster? What is their bargining tool with the NBA. Does the league want to keep a small market team like Cleveland relevant with high draft selections? I think that the Timberwolves executive was giving a truthful answer during his interview. Someone made him recant his statement about the lottery being fixed.

The Worst Trade in NFL History

During the 1989 NFL season newly hired head coach Jimmy Johnson of the Dallas Cowboys decided that a trade would be the only way for the Cowboys to improve. After evaluating the roster he decided that Heisman Trophy winning running back Herschel Walker presented the best opportunity for compensation than any other Cowboys player. The Minnesota Vikings offered 5 players and 8 future draft picks in return for Herschel Walker and 4 future draft picks. This blockbuster 18 player trade laid the foundation for the Dallas Cowboys Dynasty of the 1990's with 3 Super Bowls victories.

Minnesota Received: RB Herschel Walker, 1990 3rd round pick-54 overall,1990 5th round pick-116 overall,1990 10th round pick-249 overall,1991 3rd round pick-68 overall

Dallas Received: LB Jesse Solomon, LB David Howard, CB Iassiac Holt, RB Darrin Nelson, DE Alex Stewart, 1990 1st round pick-21 overall, 1990 2nd round pick-47 overall, 1990 6th round pick-158 overall, 1991 1st round pick-12 overall, 1991 2nd round pick-38 overall, 1992 2nd round pick-37 overall,1992 3rd round pick-71 overall, 1993 1st round pick-13 overall

UnbelievaBULL

Derrick Rose and the Chicago Bulls sent a clear message to the Maimi Heat in game one of the Eastern Conference Finals-"Not in our House". Miami held a 3 point lead at the end of the first quarter and would only see the lead two more times the entire game. The Bulls fans are wondering if they are seeing deja vu with their MVP superstar and his supporting cast. Rose is leading the Bulls by example scoring 28 points and 6 assists. The Bulls cruised to a 21 point victory 103-82.

Chris Bosh led the Miami Heat with a game high 30 points. LeBron James scored 15 points shooting 5 for 15. James and D. Wade both had a team high 4 turnovers. The Heat falls behind early 0-1 in a best of 7 series. Game 2 is Wednesday night at 8:30 pm in the house that Jordan built "United Center".

Blow Your Horn One Last Time For the Tractor

Robert "Tractor" Traylor was found dead in an oceanfront apartment in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The reported cause of death was a massive heart attack. Traylor had journeyed to Puerto Rico to continue his life as a basketball player. The former NBA and University of Michigan big man, 6'8"  300 lbs. spent 7 seasons in the league.

Traylor's highlights mostly came as a collegiate player in the mid 90's in the post Fab 5 era at Michigan. Traylor would not remain a Maverick long being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Future Hall of Famer forward Dirk Nowitzki. He also played with Charlotte, New Orleans, and LeBron James in Cleveland during his tenure in the NBA.

The Fountain of Youth in the NBA

The two most interesting series in the NBA Playoffs both have young teams and young stars. On Monday night, Game four of the Western Conference Semifinals became an instant classic. The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Memphis Grizzlies went into 3 overtime periods to decide the winner of a pivotal swing game. A win for the Grizzlies and they take a 3-1 lead. If the Thunder were to win that would even the best of seven series at 2 games apiece.

The Thunder young guns Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook combined for 75 points in the Thunder's 133-123 triple overtime win. The win was huge considering a 2-2 tie and Oklahoma has home court advantage.

The Grizzlies young stars Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol (Lakers Pau Gasol's younger brother) gave a valiant effort on their home floor in the heart breaking defeat. The two front court players combined for 60 points. This game featured the future of the NBA for years to come. Game 5 is tonight in Oklahoma City.

The Eastern Conference Semifinals features the Chicago Bulls and the Atlanta Hawks. The "Baby Bulls" are led by league MVP point guard Derrick Rose and front court player Joakim Noah. Rose is averaging 33 points per game in this series and Noah has pulled down 11 rebounds per game. In Game 3, Derrick Rose set a personal career high for points scoring 44 points.

The "Baby Birds of Prey" Atlanta Hawks are trying to advance to the conference finals for the first time in franchise history. Atlanta's Joe Johnson and the suprise of the series Jeff Teague must continue to play well if the Hawks are going to make history. The duo has combined for a series average of 36.8 points per game. Johnson must play both ends of the floor to stifle the fast paced Bulls offense. Teague must figure out a way to atleast contain Derrick Rose to help keep Atlanta's hopes alive. The Hawks find themselves in a 2-3 game deficit and facing elimination on their home court Thursday night in the Philips Arena for Game 6.

BOLTS FAN vs. HOA

Steven Paul, a season ticket holder for the Tampa Bay Lightning is being hounded by his HOA (Home Owners Association). The Bolts fan was cited for having a sign in his yard that was not a security company sign. HOA violation stated "No sign allowed except for security signs". The sign was a part of a playoff package (sign,T-shirt,stickers). After Paul placed the "GO BOLTS" sign in his yard; the HOA sent him a violation notice. Cleverly, Paul then adds: "Protected by:" and" Security" to the sign. Thus making it a security sign. I think that there are more pressing issues than a sign that will be removed in days. After sweeping the Washington Capitals the Lightning advance to play the 3rd seed Boston Bruins in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals. "GO BOLTSand "GO PAUL"!!!!!
