It's 1 versus 2 in the Alabama 5-A Quarterfinals
The mantra is "Offense versus Defense" in the epic battle for advancement in the playoffs. (#1)Hueytown and top rated QB Jameis Winston will bring their high scoring act into Mobile to face CB/RB Kylen Towner and a stingy (#2)St. Paul's defense. This heavyweight bout will take place on Friday, November 18 at 7:00 pm in Mobile, AL.Hueytown is undefeated at 12-0 and St. Paul's is 11-1 with the lone lost to 6-A Fairhope. The winner of this game will be the unadulterated favorite to win the 5-A Championship.

3's A Crowd Equals Future Trouble For Florida State
Florida State has a luxury that any team in college football would envy and that luxury is recruiting well at the quarterback position. This same luxury may come back to haunt them in a year or two. Currently, they have Clint Trickett (the only FSU quarterback to attempt a pass besides E.J. Manuel) and Jacob Coker, the highly touted freshman from Mobile, Al. The Noles also have two more quarterbacks Ethan Gilbert and Will Secord on their roster and they are all Sophomores and under. Manuel, the starting quarterback is a junior.
Here's the kicker(no pun intended) the number one quarterback recruit in the nation Jameis Winston from Hueytown,Al is also committed to Flordia State. The question is not who will back up Manuel next year. The question is how long will it take for Trickett,Coker, or Winston to realize that three's a crowd and decide to take their talents elsewhere. I feel that it will not take long for someone to see the writing on the wall.Besides, there is only one football.
Will Winston make this conversation moot by reconsidering and making another coach the happiest man alive? Will the battle began in the spring? We will just have to stay tuned in for "As The Noles Turns".

Ostin McPherson Leads St. Paul's To Victory
TROY — Ostin McPherson ran for 225 yards on 31 carries to pace No. 4 St. Paul’s to a 31-0 win over Charles Henderson Friday night in the second round of the 5A state playoffs.McPherson, an eighth-grader, ran for 157 yards and a touchdown in the second half. The Saints (11-1) poured it on to break a 0-0 halftime deadlock and set up a showdown at home against No. 1 Hueytown Friday at 7 p.m. in the quarterfinals.
“We made some good halftime adjustments,” St. Paul’s coach Jimmy Perry said. “We were trying to trick them in the first half. We came out of halftime and ran it right at them.”The Saints got a 1-yard touchdown sneak from William Brabston after Kylen Towner’s 54-yard punt return.“The punt return was the turning point,” Perry said. “That set us up with great field position.”McPherson scored on a 10-yard run, Jannick Wildraut booted a 34-yard field goal, Austin Mosley added a 4-yard touchdown run and Brabston had another short TD run to cap the scoring.St. Paul’s defense held Charles Henderson to just 151 yards.
“Our defense has been our rock all season,” said Brabston. “We didn’t play our best in the first half but our defense kept us in the game.”

My Fantasy Football Game 11/10/2011 - 11/14/2011
Team Mind Over Matter is gaining momentum in spite of a injury plagued line up consisting of Miles Austin(Dall- WR), Julio Jones(Atl- WR), and Aaron Hernandez(N.E.- TE). Each of these player have missed games due to injuries. I hope that everyone is healthy by playoff time (Week 15). Due to various injuries I am still last in my division, but I have won two games in a row!

SO, OZZIE'S TAKING HIS TALENTS TO SOUTH BEACH ?
FORMER CHICAGO WHITE SOX MANAGER OZZIE GUILLEN HAS COMMENTED ON A BLOG THAT HE WILL BECOME THE NEW MANAGER OF THE FLORIDA MARLINS AFTER THEIR CURRENT MANAGER 80 YEAR OLD JACK McKEON RETIRES AFTER THE SEASON. GUILLEN GUIDED THE WHITE SOX TO A WORLD SERIES TITLE IN 2005 AND WANTED THE WHITE SOX TO GIVE HIM A NEW DEAL OR RELEASE HIM AND THEY CHOSE THE LATTER.
IN A CITY WHERE LeBRON AND THE HEAT ARE KING; HOW WILL GUILLEN OR ANYONE ELSE FIND A WAY TO FILL THE STANDS (SEASON TICKET HOLDERS) IN A NEW BALL PARK SCHEDULED TO OPEN IN 2012.

IF OZZIE DOES END UP IN SOUTH FLORIDA I CAN SEE THE AREA SPORTS WRITERS ALREADY WAITING FOR AN OUTBURST FROM HIM TO MAKE THE FRONT PAGE.

RISING STAR : HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL ( KYLEN TOWNER)
The state of Alabama has produced excellent Division-1 talent for many years. In Mobile, Alabama at St. Paul's Episcopal another star is in the process of being made. Duel threat (DB/RB) junior Kylen Towner(# 1) is making electrifying plays on both sides of the ball.
Towner in only three games this season has already scored an offensive, defensive, and special teams touchdown. He has helped to lead the Saints to a 3-0 start and a top 10 ranking in the 5-A Division. The future looks very bright for this young man and maybe he'll follow former St. Paul's prep star Mark Barron and attend The University of Alabama.
